SPG1A1 - Provide Pennsylvania teachers with practical, industry-based education and training to enhance STEM instruction in their classrooms. (A1)-Identify and promote STEM professional development activities for educators in the region.

SPG1A2 - Provide Pennsylvania teachers with practical, industry-based education and training to enhance STEM instruction in their classrooms. (A2)-Conduct and implement best practice models and research.

SPG1A3 - Provide Pennsylvania teachers with practical, industry-based education and training to enhance STEM instruction in their classrooms. (A3)-Create a real time information exchange between business and education that results in a database to impact curriculum and practices.

SPG2A1 - Provide all NW Pennsylvania high school students with access to STEM-content courses and practical, field-based learning experiences. (A1)-Career counselors in schools for internships, career pathways, business mentors, etc.

SPG2A2 - Provide all NW Pennsylvania high school students with access to STEM-content courses and practical, field-based learning experiences. (A2)-Promote the alignment and integrated curriculums with STEM Careers using contextual learning models (i.e., 7 Survival Skills).


SPG3A1 - Open new pathways to increase the number and quality of STEM education teachers in PA classrooms.


SPG3A2 - Open new pathways to increase the number and quality of STEM education teachers in Pennsylvania classrooms. (A2)-Future teacher training should incorporate higher education collaboration, greater partnerships in content areas and teacher self-assessment tool.


SPG4A1 - Build the relationships, networks and ongoing conversations to promote NW Pennsylvania’s STEM education work among policymakers, businesses, and educators at the state, regional and local levels. (A1)-Proactively engage business, education and legislators with a new model that creates a sense of urgency.


SPG4A2 - Build the relationships, networks and ongoing conversations to promote NW Pennsylvania’s STEM education work among policymakers, businesses, and educators at the state, regional and local levels. (A2)- Funding mechanisms to get people involved.


SPG5A1 - Create a mechanism to recruit, retain and retrain our workforce in critical STEM fields. (A1)-Create a mechanism to advise workforce programs and funding streams on career pathways and effective training for the future in STEM areas (i.e., Industry Partnerships, WedNET, Career Links, CJT, TANF, Youth Councils, etc.)


SPG5A2 - Create a mechanism to recruit, retain and retrain our workforce in critical STEM fields. (A2)-Establish a regional industry relevant standard for math.
